Google Calendar sync
Two-way, once connected from Settings: your real calendar's busy times block HykeCal slots, and confirmed HykeCal bookings appear as real events on your calendar.
Setting it up
- Enable the Google Calendar API in Google Cloud Console.
- Create an OAuth client (Web application type) under Credentials.
- Register
<your-app-url>/api/auth/google/callbackas the redirect URI. - Set
GOOGLE_CLIENT_IDandGOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRETas environment variables. - Click "Connect Google Calendar" on the Settings page.
Scopes
Only calendar.freebusy and calendar.events are requested — deliberately not the full calendar scope, which also grants calendar management HykeCal never needs.
If sync ever fails
Silently, on purpose. A calendar-sync hiccup logs an error but never blocks or reverses an already-confirmed booking — the booking itself is always the source of truth.
Heads up: while the Google OAuth consent screen is in "Testing" publishing status, refresh tokens auto-expire after 7 days and need reconnecting.
